About the Minnesota Vixen:

The Minnesota Vixen are a full contact, tackle women’s football team that plays 11-on-11 outdoor football. The season consists of 8 games (4 home, 4 away) and playoffs. Pre-season practice begins in December with chalk talks, with the games beginning in April.

The Vixen are currently seeking a Defensive Coordinator and position coaches.

Defensive Coordinator

Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Minnesota Vixen seeks experienced football coaching candidates for the Defensive Coordinator role and to assist in all aspects of running a successful program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: determine and develop the defensive scheme, practice plan development, individual and small group instruction, video analysis, large group instruction and individual meetings with both the head coach and individual athletes.

The coach will be expected to attend practices and games, travel with the team for away-competitions and attend team functions such as fundraisers.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have 1-2 years experience coaching competitive football.
  • Desire and ability to work in a collaborative manner with other coaches.
  • Ability to lead defensive coaching team.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work independently.
  • Ability to show initiative, organize workflow, and lead.
  • Experience with and/or ability to utilize video (Hudl) preferred.
