Flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country — creating new opportunities for women and non-binary athletes to compete, develop skills, and be part of the game in a fast-paced, dynamic format.
The Minnesota Vixen Flag program builds on the legacy of the longest-running women’s tackle football team in the nation. Our goal is to provide a structured, competitive environment where athletes can grow their football IQ, refine position skills, and compete as part of a strong, inclusive team culture.
Whether you are brand new to football or have experience in tackle, rugby, soccer, basketball, or other team sports, Vixen Flag offers a space to learn, compete, and elevate your game.
We launched our flag program last year and are now expanding into a full Spring league season in 2026.

A Strong Start for Vixen Flag
In 2025, the Minnesota Vixen sent a women’s team to compete in the WFA’s first-ever National Women’s Flag Football Tournament in Canton, Ohio.
The Vixen made an impressive run all the way to the semi-finals, ultimately falling to the Cali War — our long-time rivals on the tackle football field. It was a strong showing for the Vixen and an exciting milestone for our growing flag program.
As women’s flag football continues to expand nationally, the Minnesota Vixen are committed to building opportunities for athletes in Minnesota to compete, develop, and represent the program on bigger stages.

Looking Ahead
We are also exploring sending 1–2 travel teams to compete at the WFA Flag Football Tournament in Canton this July. These travel teams may include Spring league athletes and additional players training within the Vixen program.
We are planning to field a Fall 2026 team as well.
More details will be announced as plans develop.
