2021 Most Improved Defensive Player of the Year

Coach Britta Clark transitions into coaching with the Minnesota Vixen following an accomplished playing career that showcased her leadership, versatility, and deep understanding of defensive football. A former defensive lineman who later moved to linebacker, Clark was known for her physical presence, high football IQ, and ability to elevate those around her — qualities she now brings to her role on the coaching staff.
Her playing career was marked by significant recognition and impact. Clark earned WFA All-American honors in both 2023 and 2024, was named the 2022 Trench Boss Award recipient, and received the 2021 Most Improved Defensive Player of the Year award. She also served as a respected Team Captain in 2023, 2024 and 2025, helping lead the Vixen both on and off the field.
Originally from Circle Pines, Minnesota, Clark grew up surrounded by football, watching her father and brother play. When her brother completed his college football career, he symbolically passed the torch to her — a moment that helped launch her own journey in the sport.
Now stepping into coaching, Clark’s greatest strength lies in film breakdown and defensive analysis, where her attention to detail and strategic insight help players better understand the game and accelerate their development. She remains passionate about football and grateful for the opportunity to continue contributing to the Vixen culture and team community she has long been proud to represent.

In 2011 and 2012, OB played for Augsburg College at running back and kick returner also running track & field in the spring. He also played for the Minneapolis Warriors in 2016 in their first year of existence. OB tries to be active in the Twin Cities community, volunteering with camps often. You can often find him at youth sports games cheering on his nieces and nephews.
OB has over a decade of coaching and developing teenagers and young adults in multiple sports. He spent one year coaching running backs at Brainerd High School and four years coaching track & field at Augsburg College. OB also has been a consistent figure in the Quadball community since 2013. Maria, born in St. Paul and raised in Maple Grove, Minnesota, spent most of her childhood playing sports and spending time outdoors. In 8th grade, she played football for the middle school team and fell in love with the sport. In college, she was a team manager for the Augsburg Football team for four years. Her journey with the Vixen began in 2008 during her freshman year of college, marking the start of an unwavering commitment. Maria briefly paused her active playing career but remained devoted to the team while pursuing graduate studies at Weber State University, where she served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for two years.
Having spent 14 seasons on the field, Maria’s versatility as a player saw her evolve from an inside linebacker to various offensive positions, including all positions along the offensive line and tight end. Her achievements include being a 6-time All-American and a 2-time offensive MVP, recognized through team awards. Additionally, Maria’s leadership qualities earned her nine nominations as a team captain.
Professionally, Maria channels her passion for sports into her work as an athletic trainer at a local suburban high school. She also dedicates part of her time to serving as a firefighter/EMT. She currently resides in Minneapolis with her husband and their four pets.
Maria is eagerly looking forward to rejoining her team in 2024 and taking on a fresh role as a offensive assistant. She is dedicated to ensuring the Vixen perform at their highest level every week on the field.

My coaching philosophy is to prepare these players for anything they might encounter. Practice must be harder than games. I stress physical fitness, mental toughness and aggressive play. On the line, we set the tone for the rest of the team by creating space for our skill players to operate effectively. We impose our will on opponents through relentless effort, playing until the echo of the whistle. As a position group, we might be out-played, and we might be out-coached, but we will never be out-hustled, and we will never be out-hit. I’ve coached high school football in Stillwater for over a decade. In the 1980s, I played for a coach who was a mastermind at football but a terrible person. I honestly think I had that experience to motivate me to be an ambassador for the game. It’s something I take very seriously. If you play for me, I’m going to push you hard but you’re going to realize that I’m also your biggest cheerleader.
When I’m not on a football field, I enjoy German shepherds, reading, landscaping, cutting wood, and most of all, catch and release fishing for northern pike and Musky.
