Coach Eric Meng

Coach Meng grew up playing football in Idaho Falls, Idaho and played all the way through high school with a couple years post-secondary with the United States Marine Corps. By day, he works as a Project Manager for a computing firm and lives just north of the Twin Cities with his wife and children. Coach Meng has lots of part time endeavors that keep him busy and allow him to coach/teach all year round.

He have been coaching sports for over 25 years and his passion for football just keeps growing! He has been a Director for Champlin Dayton youth football for over 11 years and has been the league’s Player Safety Coach and Instructor for Heads Up Football for most of that time. Coach Meng is a former Champlin Park High School football  strength and conditioning coach, where he coached for 5 years. He has been with the Minnesota Vikings as a Senior Youth and High School Player Development Coach, as well as a chairperson for their advisory football board for the state of Minnesota for the past 5 years as well. He owns a small Personal Training business where he has worked with high school age through adult men and women set and meet their goals in fitness, strength, and personal growth for the last 3 years.

 Coach Meng is a firm believer that his job as a coach is to build a player’s knowledge of the game, build and develop new skills, build confidence, sportsmanship, understanding of the game, love for the sport, and teamwork. He coaches and encourages hard work and respect on and off the field, and giving it our best every single rep/play. Coach Meng states "I believe communication, earning trust and getting to know my players is an important role as a coach and I will always show up and have your back; a coach can be a strong foundation for their team to bring you from teammates to family. I’m looking forward to the season…GO VIXEN!"

Education: WITC AA in Information Technology 2011, Eastern Oregon University BS in Physical Activity & Health with a Minor in Physical Education & Sports 2017, Eastern Oregon University BS in Communication Studies 2019, ISSA Certified Personal Trainer 2020, ISSA Certified as a Sports Nutritionist, Powerlifting Instructor, Specialist in Strength and Conditioning, Specialist in Bodybuilding, Elite Trainer, Online Coaching 2021, ISSA Certified Master Trainer 2021
